A MAN has been arrested after allegedly stealing a total of £7.5 million from a bank in South Perth.
The cash was then given to a man in Australia, who allegedly used it to buy an iPad.
The money was recovered from a house in the city, according to police.
Officers were called to the Bank of Macquarie in the town of Westfield about 4.30pm yesterday and found a total sum of £14.5million missing.
The man was arrested on suspicion of stealing more than £7 million from the bank.
Detectives are appealing for information.
