The idea of going to the gym isn’t just for gym rats.

The Australian public has been asked to give it a try, with some suggesting a gym should be part of the lifestyle.

A new poll has found Australians think it’s a great idea, with 61 per cent of respondents saying gym membership should be a regular part of their life.

The survey, conducted by YouGov, was conducted over the last month and found nearly three-quarters of Australians (74 per cent) want to try it.

Here are the 10 reasons people think gym membership is a good idea.

It gets you fit: “I feel fit and healthy,” one respondent said.

“I can move my feet faster, I’m stronger and more agile and I feel confident in my body.

It’s a real plus for me.”
